Szürkebarát (“Pinot Gries”)

The international name for the “Szürkebarát” is Pinot Gris. Szürkebarát is not an exclusively Hungarian grape, but it grows well in the Hungarian wine regions.

For a long time we were more familiar with its semi-sweet and sweet version, although it reveals its good characteristics as dry wine – as do many other. Typically,

• it allows the peculiar qualities of its location to be felt alongside its characteristic aromas, reminiscent of herbs.

The character of the wine can different according to the impact of the various wine-making techniques. Steeping the grapes in their shells leaves the wine with a rosé-like colour. It is an exciting wine, worth being both consumed and talked about. We will hear more about this wine in the future.
