Description of the cellar
Mr. Csaba Malatinszky reestablished his estate in 1997 as a follower of noble, family traditions. The founder himself, with a very wide range of international pre-studies, manages the farming and the technical work of the estate. Transplanting noble, family traditions into the present expresses his outlook on life and his commitment to working and living in harmony with Nature. He converted the estate to entirely organic in 2009 and this is the spirit which guides Mr. Malatinszky in winemaking. Mr. Malatinszky consciously optimised the dimensions of his vineyards to 30 hectares to ensure authenticity and sustainability, and thus is able to focus on creating an exceptional organic wine that expresses his personality and represents his quest for beauty in his craft. The geographic location of his three, approximately 10-hectare vineyard blocks from east to west are Kisharsány, Siklós and Máriagyűd. Cultivated grape varieties: White grapes: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Muscat Ottonel. Blue grapes: Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The compilation of his grape varieties indicates that he pays special attention to Cabernet franc and Chardonnay. Flagship wine: Kuria Cabernet Franc since 2001. The execution of our vinification fully serves accessibility. Mr. Malatinszky believes that valuable wine needs to be accessible. For the sake of this, his vines are low-yields (800 grams/ vine) in my entire vineyard. The Kuria does not press its grapes to extract juice, all of our wines are made from free-run juice. his red wines are not even clarified or filtered. His approach is lavish. It is not the cost that is our first priority but the accomplishment of our goal. To express personality, , rfarming and vinification is carried out by handwork. His wines are classified into 3 classes: Classic is called Signature, Noblesse is the premium class. Kuria is the super-premium class which expresses the most his philosophy, his commitment to nature, Kuria wines are unfiltered . Malatinszky brought his high-end wine named Maghari into being in 2015 which is the crown of his work so far. Maghari is both fermented and aged under closed conditions in new oak barrel. By the novelty process, method Malatinszky got awarded the blue ribbon of innovation by SIAL ( Shanghai and Paris)in 2018. As the reflection of the standard of Mr. Csaba Malatinszky’s philosophy, his wines hold a special allure for a specific range of audience with the desire and needs for unique quality products. Due to the high standards, he markets his wines at “Niche market”. The Hungarian marketing headquarter is his own specific wine store in Budapest since 1992. Wine lovers from all over the world can buy his wines at his wine store in Budapest or at his winery in Villàny. His Press house at Kövesföld parcel in Mariagyüd makes home for testing his rich super premium assortment which are occasionally accompanied with special dishes the winegrower himself.
