Šafran Winery

OPG Šafran is a family winery founded in the 1990s by Ivan Šafran. He passed on his love of growing vines and wine production to his son Antonio, a graduate agronomist and wine expert who took over the business 5 years ago, with Ivan staying in an advisory role. Daughters Marija and Mihaela are also involved in jobs in the winery as needed.

OPG Šafran has vineyards in several locations – Kalnik, Kramarovec and Zagorska Street in town Križevci, Croatia where the wine cellar is located. In addition, OPG Šafran owns a facility on mountain Kalnik that can accommodate a group of 30-40 guests in a beautiful natural surrounding with spectacular view.

OPG Šafran produces Rhine Riesling, as the main brand, Sylvaner Green, Sauvignon Blanc and the indigenous variety Kleščec. The annual production is about 20,000 bottles. Wines are mostly being distributed to restaurants or sold in the winery to loyal customers who always return for quality wines.
