Gergen Birtok

Our winery, Gergen Birtok, has been part of the traditional wine-growing community of the Villány Wine Region since 2017. However, our roots go back to the Turkish age, as a more than 500 years old architectural construction has been discovered in the cellar underneath our central building in Máriagyűd, what was probably used as a clerical tithe cellar.
Today we cultivate about 40 hectares of vineyard. Our wine varieties include tramini, welschriesling, hárslevelű, chardonnay, portugieser, bluefrankish, pinot noir, merlot, cabernet franc cabernet sauvignon,and syrah.

Beside our wines, we produce 100% fruit juices and brandies from our own fruits. Our own branded cheeses and smoked products are also our guests; favourites and can be excellent gifts too.
We can organise wine tasting events, but professional meetings and gatherings of family members or friends can also be held in our cellar. A Turkish-era cellar tour is available upon request.
Máriagyűd is a wonderful village, discover it yourself. Have a look at the Basilica of Máriagyűd and its surroundings. Take a walk around the church, on the Calvary and the Butcher’s Broom educational path. After your discovery, come in for a cup of coffee or take part in our wine tasting event.
